X-Factor Star Jahmene Craves US Idol

By Johnson Brierley

He's a darling to many, but, it seems that X-factor contestant Jahmene respects the honesty of American Idol far more than X-factor, and believes that he would suit the show much more because it is much more focused on singing ability than the UK.

The 21 year old singer commented that: "The show isn't really about singing at all, as you can see from the quality of acts that get past the audition process". The boy has surely come a long way since his shy introduction to the world of reality tv.

Jahmene believes that singing is a secondary consideration when the show's producers decide which performers get through to the live stage, and given the awful quality of some of the acts we have all witnessed, who can dis-agree with him?

However, Jahmene has admitted that his decision to audition for the show was not entirely his own, but rather he was invited by the show's producers to attend one of the auditions after they had listened to his songs on Youtube, and thought he would go down well.

But as anyone worth their salt will tell you, you have to take advantages of opportunities in life when they present themselves - something which Jahmene has certainly done - and he now certainly seems to be at ease in the public eye, this week hanging out with Nicole Scherzinger at his local ASDA store.

And he certainly seems to be reveling in his new found celebrity, after recently being filmed apparently 'hanging out' in the local ASDA store where he used to work with former pussycat doll sex kitten Nicole Scherzinger.

And it seems that Jahmene will keep going from strength to strength for the forseeable future, with his stock and popularity rising all the time in the public's eye. And although we are all only too aware of how quickly reality stars fade away these days, one would certainly not bet against Jahmene shining brightly for some time after the series has ended.

But whether he continues to be a household name after the cameras have stopped rolling, only time will tell. But let's just hope that whatever happens, he will keep the sense of humility and grounding that caused the public to take him to their hearts in the first place. Surely anything after that is a bonus.
